레바논 국경일 연회 열어
레바논 "이삼 모스타파" 대사부부는 2009년 11월 23일 서울 강남 JW 메리어트 호텔에서 레바논 독립 기념일 축하연회를 열었다. 장태평 농림수산식품부 장관을 비롯한 사회 각계각층에서 약 600여명의 저명인사가 이 리셉션에 참석하였다. 그들 중에는 SK 에너지, 현대자동차, S 오일사장, 대중불교조계종 종정 박승억 스님, 궁중자수-한복디자이너 정명자 이조고방 원장 등이 축하화환을 보내고 직접 참석해 주었다.
또한 세르비아, 일본, 아랍에미레이트, 이란, 터키, 파키스탄, 엘살바도르, 아제르바이잔, 카타르 대사등 주한외교사절단과 외국계 인사들이 보기 드물게 상당히 많은 인원이 참석하였다.
"마지다 모스타파" 레바논 대사부인은 성격이 활달하고 사교적이어서 주한외국대사 부인들 중 가장 많은 친구가 있는 것으로 알려져 있어 이날에도 어김없이 그녀의 친구들이 이 리셉션에 대거 참석하여 행사 분위기를 유쾌하고 즐겁게 해 주었다. 그리고 특이한 점은 이날 여느 이슬람국가 연회와는 달리 와인이 제공되어 참석자들이 즐겁운 시간을 보낼 수 있었다.
레바논은 중동지역에서 경제가 빠르게 성장하고 있는 나라 중에 하나이다.
레바논의 자유시장 경제는 경쟁과 사유재산 인정에 기초하고 있다. 특히 서비스와 금융분야에서 두드러져서 레바논 국가 총생산에서 70%를 차지하고 있다. 농업은 10%, 산업분야는 20% 를 차지하고 있다.레바논은 산악스키에서 지중해 해수욕까지 관광객들에게 다양한 볼거리와 서비스를 제공한다. 근래에 레바논 호텔업은 5억달러에 상당하는 재건사업을 시작하였다.
Lebanon hosts reception to mark National Day
The Ambassador of Lebanon and Mrs. Issam Mostapha hosted a reception at the JW Marriot Hotel in Gangnam, Seoul on Nov. 23, 2009 to celebrate the National Day of the Republic of Lebanon. An estimated 600 distinguished guests attended the reception from all walks of life, including Minister Chang Tae-Pyong for Food, Agriculture, Forestry & Fisheries.
There also were many noted figures from the business and civic organizations as well as ranking officials from the government. Among them were CEO Jay Koo of SK Energy, President Steve S. Yang of Hyundai Motor Company. RD&CDO Ahmed A. Subaey of S Oil, Chief Abbot Seung-Eok Park of Korea Mahayanist Buddhist Jogye Order, President Chung Myung-Ja of Yi Jo Go Bang Royal Embroidery Boutique, Chairman Park Min-Hwan of Silk Road City and Vice President Park Sung-Kyu of Korea Engineering Consultants Corp.. From the media came their representatives and senior journalists, including Publisher-Chairman Lee Kyung-sik of The Korea Post.
From the diplomatic and foreign community came an unusually large number of distinguished gusts including ambassadors and other senior diplomats with their spouses. Among them were Ambassadors Slobodan Marincovic of Serbia, Toshinori Shigeie of Japan, Abdulla Muhammad Al Maainah of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammad Raza Bakhtiari of Iran, Erdogan Serif Iscan of Turkey, Murad Ali of Pakistan, Zoila Aguirre de May of El Salvador,
Rovshan Jamshidov of Azerbaijan and Ali Hamad Mubarak Al-Marri of Qatar. Mrs. Majida Mostapha is considered to be among the few who have the largest number of lady friends among the spouses of the ambassadors due to her pleasant character and sociability, and naturally there were a large number of lady guests – adding to the liveliness and pleasant ambience of the reception.The host obviously special extra attention for the comfort and pleasure of the guests at the party in the fact that there were wines while at some other National Day receptions of the Islamic countries alcoholic beverages are not served.Lebanon is among the fast-growing economies of the region.
Lebanon’s liberal economy is based on competition and private ownership. Services and banking sectors predominate, representing 70% of the country’s gross national product. Agriculture constitutes 10% and the industrial sector accounts for the remaining 20%.
Lebanon offers travelers a diverse scope of activities, ranging from mountain skiing to swimming in the Mediterranean. The hotel industry in Lebanon has begun a restoration project valued at $500 million.
